Sunshine!!!!!

Thank goodness for the Sunshine!!!!!! It was in the 70's here this weekend. I got to spend time on Saturday riding without wind, snow, or rain and LOVED it. Logan finally got to get her feet in the grass. She loves the grass. It must taste good, cause we could hardly keep it out of her mouth. And my Sunday jog actually involved the discussion of "should I wear a tank top" and "is Logan dressed TOO WARM?" The day I find a place that is 70's and dry year round I'm MOVING:)

Maybe it's the Binki

So I'm thinking that Logan's sleep issue may be the binki (that's what we call it around here). Anytime she wakes up for a sec  she wants it. But she is too tired to find it herself, so she cries us to put it in. I think after the umptinth time she just gets frustrated and cries for me, as by then she just wants to cuddle and sleep. So my instincts are leaning me to weaning her from that first. Last night however, was not good and she was with us ALL night. She woke up constantly and was crying and not easy to console. I finally got up and got some Tylenol. I do not think she has an ear infection (no other symptoms, fever, etc). But thinking that maybe it's because she is teething??? Anyone have this? Her teeth coming in really have not seemed to bother her at all. But maybe at night when she is sleeping the pain gets more intense? She's been like that at night before when she's had a bad tummy ache. But Tylenol never helps that. And she definitely seemed better after the Tylenol. .................. hmmmmmmmm:( Poor Baby :(

Bad Sleeper and Baby Dolls

So Logan is officially a bad sleeper. Actually, she has been that way since about 3 months. She will sleep oh so sound if you are HOLDING her, but man, put her down and you get 30min at nap time and around a hour at bed time. Yuck. So nap time I can navigate, but bed time.......let's just say she's been sleeping in our bed for the last 6 months:) Which I really don't mind. I mean, they are only little once and they aren't always going to want to be so close to us. So I've enjoyed the sleepy time cuddles together as a family. But she started waking up a couple weeks ago in the middle of the night to play. Sitting up, hitting us and crawling around. This isn't that safe. I don't want us to not wake up in time and her fall out of bed. So we decided to work on her sleeping in her crib. It's been a roller coaster. Some nights she has done well....meaning between about 9:30 and 6am'ish she has woken up needing a quick console only 4 times. Yep, that's doing good. Bad night, last night. Between 10pm and 2am I was in her room 4 times and Earl was in there twice. Needless to say I finally gave up and brought her to bed. I do think though that she had a tummy ache. So my mom got her a baby doll yesterday. One with real hair and a real face, etc. She LOVES this doll. She pokes it's eyes, mouth and nose. Talks to it and drags it around. Which we all find quite funny since she is only 9 months. But she seems to know its got a face like us and prefers it to her more age appropriate toys. So I'm hoping that maybe she will take to this doll enough that if she sleeps with it she will find comfort and not need mom to come rub her head for 10 seconds. Yep, I've got to get up to give her about 10secs of attention and she goes back to sleep. But crying it out is not an option..............she'll out last me any day on that. Plus it just feels unnatural to let her cry.

A Toddler Already?

March Fun

So, I think we're a toddler now?????? That's just crazy. But my baby really isn't much of a baby anymore. She cut her first two teeth. She's a good teether though, because I didn't realize she was getting teeth until they were visible. She never really got fussy or anything. This was a relief considering some of the stories I've heard. Hopefully the rest of the mouthful goes as smoothly.

Logan is also a crawling machine. She can almost walk too. Shouldn't be long. Now that is going to keep me on my toes!

We've just been up to the usual otherwise. Trying to get outside more with the snow drying up (although it had to dump again this weekend, in March??? Crazy). Got some pics of Logan in her new pack. She does well and it sure makes it easier to lug 20+ pounds around.

Not much else has been going on here. I know I've become a terrible blogger. But Logan really is not a fan of my computer time. So I'm gonna blame her :)

Million Dollar Face

Hiking Feb 2008

Ok, so mom is probably biast:)

Finally is warmed up enough to go out for a hike. It's been soo cold and we've had so much snow that we haven't really been able to go out. Talk about cabin fever! We have all been suffering. But with a little climb in the temps, we've had some snow melt and it actually feels warm out.

Logan is a crawling machine. She has also taken to clapping which she finds quite entertaining. It's too cute. Her hair is long enough now for this cute updo! It cracks us up everytime her hair goes up. Earl almost doesn't like it though. He says it makes his little baby look like a little girl........ahhh, daddy doesn't want his baby to grow up.

Not much else going on. Earl has got some biking and running events coming up, so he is going into training mode. Me, well I took it upon myself to learn how to make bread and cake. How'd I do? Great! My cake was AWESOME (buttermilk chocolate double layer with gnache filling and frosting), mmmmm, mmmmm. And my bread, TASTY!! What does this all equate too? I've decided that I do NOT need to make baking my new hobby. It doesn't work well with our waist lines:) So I will refocus my energy into my workouts.

Crawling, Climbing and Four Feet of Snow!

That's pretty much what we've been up to. Logan started crawling about a week and a half ago. Two days later she began climbing. She can pull herself up to her feet! Man oh man am I in trouble. She's not even 8 months old yet. At this rate she's gonna be walking by 10 months. Baby proofing is on the way. Her toy of choice, well, not her toys! She'd rather play with hammers, plyers, beers bottles, books, dvd players.............you know, all the good stuff. Logan and I are also just recovering from a bad virus. Congestion, coughing, achy.....just plain yucky. It's taken about ten days for this thing to turn the corner. Logan's cough did turn a bit croupy, but fortunately it cleared up. No ear infections or anything of that sort. Being sick with a sick baby is NOT fun. Especially when we got sick right when Earl headed out of town for four days. So while he was on a fun ski trip to Whistler, we were home blowing snot. Some things just aren't fair! Ok, so maybe not 4 feet of snow, but almost! Holy snowflakes have we had snow. A week ago Sunday we got 12 inches in one day. Earl was flying back from his trip and had to catch a bus from Seattle to Spokane instead. The snow was so bad that a plane slid of the landing strip on Spokane. That caused his flight to get cancelled. So he left Whistler around 8am on Sunday and didn't make it home until 11pm...........haha, that's what he gets for going without us :)

I have pics of all this fun, but Blogger isn't letting me post them. They don't support my mac very well. As soon as I get some pictures linked I'll load them.

And.......We're Back

I don't know where I've been this last month. Guess just busy.
Logan is 7 months now..WOW! Time sure does go by fast. She was 22lbs at her six month appointment. I do think that she is slowing down in weight now. She can cover alot of ground and is almost crawling, so I'm sure she is burning some extra calories. Of course this means that I have to vacuum almost every day.  Choking babies are not good. She puts any little thing she can find in her mouth. Ok, she puts everything in her mouth. I even caught her putting the dog in her mouth, yuck! She is getting pretty good with her sounds too. She says "mama"....I often wonder if she knows what she is saying. But considering it almost only comes out when she is crying, I'm pretty sure she knows that she wants me.  She also had her first cold. Not too bad. Just a runny nose for about two weeks. She never had a real fever, but I could tell she was uncomfortable. A little baby Tylenol does wonders.  All in all it wasn't that miserable. No teeth yet (trust me, I'm not complaining), and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to that. She is eating baby veggies. Sweat peas, green beans, mmmmmm, mmmmmmm, good! She loves them! And let me tell you, you  better feed them fast until she's had her fill because she is sure to let you know that she wants MORE!!!

In other news Earl had to have oral surgery last month. That wasn't fun. His face was so swollen and he got a black eye and black cheek. Since it was his first black eye I say he should have claimed "fight" (seeing how he's never been in one). Sounds good anyways! He's all healed and back up and running. He also had 10 days off work over the holidays. It was soo nice! We just hung out around the house as a fam. He put a new floor in my Kitchen, YEAH!!! And we chipped at a few other house projects that are in the works. I definitely enjoyed having him home. And I know that Logan loved waking up and having her daddy there!
